“The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow.” ~Bill Gates
If that quote is true then every chiropractic office should have a website. If your practice does not have a dedicated web page you are missing out on a very important way to market your professional services to potential patients in your community.
A website address can provide a lot of valuable information to people who want to learn about your services. The great thing about the internet is that it is active twenty-four hours a day. It even functions on holidays and at times during the year when you are away on an exotic vacation.
Once you have established a presence on the web you can advertise the address on business cards, print media products, office brochures, bumper stickers, office newsletters and any other materials you regularly release to the public. It could hypothetically cost a chiropractor thousands of dollars to get this amount of information out to the public in a given community through traditional marketing channels. In addition, you can actually place many of your office forms that new patients will need to fill out right on your web page. New patients can regularly access and print your office forms directly from your website and have the forms filled out before they walk into your office.
Stay Connected
You should consider including an auto responder form your website; this simply encourages each visitor to leave their email address. Prompting a visitor to leave their email information is easier to do if you offer a free health newsletter as a thank you gift. Once you’ve captured the email address of a visitor you now have a bridge to connect with your visitors and build a relationship via email newsletters.
Adding your website to the internet is really not difficult. Obviously, you could hire a company to design a professional looking website for you. You would provide the designer with the written content you would like posted on your address. Hiring a web designer to build your website from scratch could however, be an expensive project.
Another option is to simply build your own landing pages or website and then launch it on the internet. Building your own site is easier than most people think and there are a number of companies that offer very user friendly website building tools to help you get your finished product “up and running” very cost effectively.
Easy Access and Valuable Content
When developing or designing a website it is important to think about the content you would like potential patients to view, aside from the necessary information about your office such as the physical address, the office phone number. I like to think of a web page as a small guide. It has a menu or navigation section that you can access with a computer mouse. The first page of your website, otherwise known as a “landing page” or the “homepage,” is your opportunity to make a great first impression for your visitors and capture their email address. Also, this home page of your site should offer information a potential patient would be looking for. Consider what they might be searching for on the internet that would lead them to click on your site from the results page. Typically most people are searching for answers about a specific condition or problem they are having. The goal is to have your website to be the first thing they see if they are searching the internet for symptoms such as low back pain or numbness and tingling.
Another option and great chiropractic marketing strategy is to add to your web site is a blog page. This keeps your website active by adding new content every couple of days; which also provides more information to your website visitors.
